IWM offers woven wire mesh products fabricated from stainless steel. Stainless steel is typically selected for applications where corrosion resistance is required in a wide range of environmental conditions. Typical stainless mesh materials include 17-7 PH® (UNS S17700), 316 (UNS S31600), and 304 (UNS S30400). 17-7PH is typically utilized for applications requiring excellent fatigue properties such as in pressurize vessels and aircraft components. 316 is ideal for resistance to corrosion or pitting in marine or chloride salt environments. By far, 304 stainless is the most used stainless for most corrosion resistant applications and most readily available. 304 Stainless chemical and physical properties are listed below.
